Rachel E. Biro, CPA

About Me

Rachel E. Biro, the current New Mexico Collaborative Practice Group Treasurer, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who specializes in valuation and related financial services. Rachel is described as a consummate problem-solver who applies her passion for accounting and wide-ranging business experience to provide clients with skilled valuation, forensic accounting, and litigation support services.

In terms of professional experience, Rachel has worked on various valuation-related services, including marital dissolutions, economic damages, and estate planning. She also has extensive experience in fraud investigation and forensic tracing for civil and family law proceedings. Rachel has collaborated on engagements with the U.S. Department of Justice, departments and agencies in the state of New Mexico, major insurance companies, and top Arizona family law firms.

What sets Rachel apart is her unique perspective as a former entrepreneur and small business owner, as well as a former marketing professional who worked with some of Arizona’s largest companies. This background allows her to bring a comprehensive understanding of business dynamics to her work as a business advisor.

Rachel is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the New Mexico Collaborative Practice Group. In terms of education and professional certifications, Rachel graduated Magna Cum Laude from Colorado State University’s Global Campus with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northern Arizona University’s School of Communication.

Rachel’s contributions to the field through presentations, publications, and writings demonstrates her vast expertise. She has been a faculty speaker at the State Bar of Arizona Convention, where she discussed business valuation issues with the state’s Family Law Section. Rachel has published articles in various publications, including Family Law News (published by the State Bar of Arizona) and the REDW Blog. Her articles cover topics such as tracing missing money, valuation and marketability discounts in divorce, business valuation in family law, and unique business valuation issues related to franchises or MLMs.

In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband Kenny, playing soccer, and reading. She and her family are also avid card and domino players – vacations and holiday weekends are sure to include a game table or two. Rachel is the parent of four fur babes – three perfect mutts and a (not so) graceful, luxurious coated cat named Keke.
