Chauna Cassell is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who specializes in and has spent the last five years as an accounting and litigation support consultant providing forensic, valuation and related financial services. Chauna spends most of her time focused in litigation support and is regularly appointed as a NM Rule 11-706 Expert Witness and financial neutral. In terms of professional experience, Chauna obtained her Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) designation in 2023, which requires one-thousand hours of court case experience. Prior to focusing in the forensic and litigation space, she spent the first eight years of her accounting career in public accounting specializing in tax for high-net-worth individuals and their closely held businesses and estates and trusts. Chauna has taught for the UNM School of Law Family Mediation Training for several years and for the NM State Bar Foundation Family Law Institute.
Chauna completed her Collaborative Practice training and has been a member of the New Mexico Collaborative Practice Group, as well as the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals since 2021. She obtained her Master of Business Administration (MBA) as well as her Bachelor of Business Administration degrees from the University of New Mexico. Chauna is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants. Chauna won the 2021 NMSCPA/AICPA Woman to Watch: Emerging Leader Award which showcased her talents and commitment to leadership within the accounting industry.
In her free time, Chauna enjoys spending time with her sons and is actively involved in the community through several non-profit organizations.
